Needle Felting?

Hello friends--first I want to say THANK YOU for all the prayers.  We appreciate them so much!  :)  So I can't thank you enough.

Second, the other week ago was my birthday and Mr and Mrs. Whimzy came over with a basket of goodies--one of them was a little set of needle-felting needles!  I also got some wool from my Mother in Law too!  So I've been using pet slicker brushes to comb through it (after I cleaned it) to make some rudimentary "roving" or something like it and tried needle felting!  I can't put up a picture right now but so far I've made a little sheep ornament!  I'm making another.  These I will be selling for $7 on Etsy once I get them up.  By the way--I am soooo completely new to it!  If you have any tips let me know!  I literally JUST picked up this new craft!

When I was unable to go to work last week I also did some other art projects.  It helped keep me busy and my mind on happier things.  I have a completed "Fall Blessings" sign I painted and sculpted a little Labrador from clay (working on painting him now, his name is Bert).  I don't have a ton of time at this moment but I'll update with pics when I am able!

The last thing is the holidays are coming--so if you would like a custom commissioned painting or drawing or whatnot let me know--I am open for them and have pretty cheap prices! :D

That's all for now friends--more later! (either tonight or tomorrow I hope--but we have Bible Study later (yay!) so it'd have to be if we have time after that!

  1. Happy belated birthday Maria!! I've done a bit of needle felting - and actually have a few pieces I've done posted in some of my earlier posts (a bunny, a little chick and a few others - back before Easter I think)....There's so many variations and tricks depending on the project you're doing - wet felting, flat felting, etc. - but one thing I couldn't do without is a big pad of foam (like upholstery foam) to use as a base or work place while I'm felting...Good luck! Can't wait to see your finished pieces! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
